   Death as only this bunch could do it. The show’s A-list roster features Matthew Barney, Marcel Broodthaers, Salvador Dalí, Damien Hirst, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alice Neel, and Pablo Picasso. Look for Neel’s ghoulish self-portrait and Basquiat’s angsty skull scribbles.

2. 2. “Death & Love in Modern Times”

   At Dinter; through October 27

   Warhol anchors a crop of relatively lesser-known artists (Leon Golub, Peter Hujar, and Ana Mendieta among them) tackling the skull as symbol and motif.
