I Kissed Dash Riprock!

It's the dream you always wished would come true: A movie star falls in love with you, and on top of being gorgeous on-screen, he's smart, funny, and chivalrous. It could happen, right? It does to Cyndi Freeman in her one-woman show, which is, no doubt, heavily based on her real life. Why do we think this? Because the other events Cyndi Freeman describes in her show all can be found in her program bio. Though she's engaging, Freeman is a little too perky and a little too smiley, and her dresses are a little too tight. She seems to be trying too hard when she teasingly sticks out her tongue at the audience to make us feel included. But her story is fun and real (one assumes), her excitement is contagious, and we found ourselves caring about her career and her love life. After all, she's dating a movie star. -- ELLEN CARPENTER
