   Each year, a great lineup of musicians (this year’s headliner is Chico Hamilton) remembers bebop’s pioneer sax man with festivals in Harlem and the East Village.

2. 2. Lincoln Center Out of Doors

   Through August 27 at Damrosch Park

   The annual celebration of the blues has already played host to break-dancers, tap-and-music fests, and rootsy shindigs. Next up: performances by Sonny Rollins (August 27) and the octogenarian all-star Randy Weston (August 23).
