   September 13 at New York State Theater

   A new production of Handel’s Semele, based on Ovid’s Metamorphoses, stars the wonderful soprano Elizabeth Futral in the title role.

3. 3. Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

   September 18 at the Metropolitan Museum

   The rising young Dutch violinist Janine Jansen joins the conductorless ensemble.
