   The talented young early-music troupe gives a truly landmark performance: a re-creation of a 1789 concert in downtown Manhattan, at Frankfort and William Streets, with an oratorio by the group’s Jamaican composer namesake.

   October 8 at Carnegie Hall

   When he’s not leading the Met Orchestra, James Levine is consistently bringing up the level of this great American symphony, here playing a lush all-Ravel program.
