Gimme Three Steps

La MaMa E.T.C. is bringing 50 brand-name dance troupes and choreographers to its three stages for a three-week festival. Themed shows are about 90 minutes each and just $10 a pop—including these three highlights.

  1. 1. “Duets”

    June 16 and 24; July 2

Five pairs partner up in a cabaret setting. Julian Barnett and Aaron Walter dance to the funked-out music of Afro-beat group Antibalas.

  2. 2. “Dancing Divas”

    June 17, 25, and 30

Pat Catterson (the dance consultant on I Shot Andy Warhol), Dance Theater Workshop founding member Deborah Jowitt, and others offer an evening of solos.

  3. 3. “Burlesque”

    July 1

Late-night variety show features the always-dramatic Julie Atlas Muz, along with Miss Saturn, Dirty Martini, and others.
