According to the rock musical Young Zombies in Love, undead hordes are only dangerous once they reach the critical mass of 1,000 and begin to care…about eating brains, that is. This exuberantly campy show crowds ten actors, nine dancers, two singers, and four musicians onto one stage, often all belting and tumbling simultaneously. It's all good, clean fun, centering on Bill-and-Ted-like banter between twin jock zombies, and a horny high schooler's quest to get to first base with her neurotic prude of a boyfriend. Of course, there's such a thing as trying too hard. The grating Z100 musical numbers and unnecessarily complex dance routines feel like sitting through 25 LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts auditions at the same time. It also turns out, a world overrun by dead surfer dudes with preternaturally unfading smiles and mammoth thighs peaking out of itsy-bitsy hot pants is far creepier than you'd think.—Jada Yuan
