Hear that? Enjoy it while it lasts. It’s the gentle excitement over spring’s new sitcoms, Broadway shows, and reasonably budgeted movies that’ll soon be drowned out by noisy hype for summer’s blockbusters—like the superhero-filled Marvel’s The Avengers, which kicks off the season early on May 4. But don’t discount the superheroism of HBO’s Girls, which went from buzz to backlash in speeding-bullet time (and may be beloved again by the time you read this), or Magic Mike, the upcoming Steven Soderbergh stripping drama, in whose new trailer Channing Tatum shirtlessly leaps a tall catwalk in a single bound.
