Spring Forward

Here are five promotions from gyms and fitness studios to help you get in shape for summer.



re:AB Pilates

The Workout: Media darling Brooke Siler has been teaching out of this homey East Village Pilates studio since the mid-nineties. Re:AB offers group, semi-private, and private mat and tower classes in a range of levels. There's also a class especially designed for first-timers.
The Deal: The studio is offering two spring packages: twelve group classes for $180 (normally $326.04), or twelve private sessions for $780 (normally $1,103.52). Ends this Friday, 4/30.

The Workout: This national yoga chain opened a sprawling, two-story flagship in Soho last year. You can meet with a “yoga adviser” at their Zen digs to figure out the style of practice that’s right for you among the studio’s many choices like Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and a higher-intensity class called SculptWorks.
The Deal: In the belief that it takes three weeks to break a bad habit (or acquire a good one), for the month of May, YogaWorks is offering unlimited yoga for three weeks for $33 to new students.

Station Fitness

The Workout: One of our picks for this year's Best Fitness Class, Station Fitness utilizes the vibrating Power Plate platform, which increases the difficulty of traditional moves like push-ups, squats, and crunches. Classes are capped at five students and beginners are welcome, but be warned: no “girl push-ups” allowed.
The Deal: For the month of May, Station Fitness is offering a package of ten sessions for the price of five ($175), as well as a two-week pass, which includes unlimited classes, for $99.

The Workout: With locations in Murray Hill and Hell’s Kitchen, this neighborhood-friendly gym offers a handful of kickboxing, yoga, and spinning classes. But you can also get a customized workout under the supervision of a personal trainer. New members also get a complimentary fitness evaluation.
The Deal: From now until June 1, new members get the month of May free, at a savings of $99.

Bikram Yoga Manhattan
Locations vary;
The Workout: This Bikram yoga mini-chain has three locations around the city, the third of which reopened in a brand new studio by Penn Station this year. Expect to sweat—a lot—during the 90-minute class, which is done in a 105 degree room. The 26 postures are beginner-friendly.
The Deal:To fill up morning and early-afternoon classes, BYM has recently started offering a discounted monthly rate of $99, which can be used toward unlimited classes before 1p.m.
