The recent crop of late-night salons turns insomnia into a beauty proposition. Best among them is this, a bright, 2,400-square-foot loft in a commercial walk-up in the heart of the meatpacking district and all its nightlife. The idea sprang out of the partylike after-hours cuts that stylists David Cotteblanche and Reynald Ricard (both Fekkai alums) once gave in Cotteblanche’s cramped Chelsea apartment. This salon houses eight stylists, a small bar stocked with free Côtes du Rhône, Sauvignon Blanc, and coffee, products by Kérastase and Phyto, and a sound system manned at peak hours by local D.J.’s, so you can get a blow-dry and rock out till 11 p.m.
