  • Green Fitness Studio

232 Varet St., nr. Bogart St., Bushwick; 347-599-0663

After three years as the training manager for David Barton Gym, Allan Lewis launched this 9,000-square-foot fitness studio in December. The spot touts green-minded touches—bamboo and recycled-tire flooring, energy-efficient infrared saunas, an organic-juice bar, ecofriendly cleaning products, and cordless, self-powered cardio equipment—along with free Wi-Fi in the outdoor atrium and high-tech treadmills outfitted with individual TVs and touch-screen computers. Monthly memberships start at $79 and include classes ranging from hot yoga to salsa and spinning.
