Yoga devotees typically stick to one studio or one type, but what if you want to try out a few different approaches? Pure Yoga’s west side outpost, its second in New York, has an extensive menu of different kinds of yoga (hatha, vinyasa, anusara, etc.) often taught by well-known teachers (Marco Rojas, Scott Harig, Kay Kay Clivio), plus the occasional visiting gurus (Ana Forrest, David Williams). There’s a dedicated private hot room for one-on-one sessions and classes specifically for those who’ve never done a downward dog in their lives. Plus there are nice changing rooms and showers. Monthly membership is $140 for unlimited classes.
