Best Hair House Calls

  • Mike and Dustin

    347-439-9469; 646-709-9080

Though they’re not the only hairstylists in town who make house calls, there are no local dudes more skilled and fun to hang out with at home while they do your hair. The laid-back pair were best friends during high school in Seattle and, improbably, wound up in beauty school, then went to work for Sally Hershberger. Now they’re like a grunge version of Shampoo, adorable straight guys who wear flannel shirts and show up at your house equipped to do Keratin treatments, blowouts, and general going-out styling, and so on. It’s Warren Beatty meets Pearl Jam, by appointment only. In addition to being fantastic conversationalists who often end up pals with their clients, they do excellent hair, from avant-garde updos (for evidence of Mike’s work, Google Crystal Renn at last year’s Costume Institute Gala) to the kind of low-key cool-girl cuts that made their former boss so famous.
