- The Spa at Equinox
1429 Second Ave., nr. 74th St.; 212-249-3917
For its initial foray into airbrush bronzing, this Spa at Equinox turned to L.A. studio Spray Di Sole, a favorite of LeAnn Rimes and other oft-bikini-clad celebrities. The collaboration netted an easy, odorless way to get tan quick: Stand in a sleek treatment room while an aesthetician mists you head to toe with an organic, aloe-vera-based solution that produces an earthy glow with realistic red undertones (versus Romney orange). The two-in-one spray gun simultaneously streams warm air for instant drying, so there’s no need to “air out” afterward. Fifteen minutes and $70 later, you’re on your way to pseudo-Californication.

Well, in the case of this, our annual “Best of New York” roundup, there’s a heavy emphasis on what’s new or what has somehow remained virtually unheard of (until now, of course).
