Best Herbs

  • Remedies Herb Shop

453 Court St., nr. Fourth Pl., Carroll Gardens; 718-643-4372

It’s like a candy store for Western herbs at owner Cheryl Boiko’s eight-month-old spot. Sold loose in old-timey glass jars (all in the $2-to-$3 range per ounce): hormone-balancing red clover, beetroot powder for post-barre-class smoothies, and digestion-easing quassia bark for homemade bitters. If you have 20 minutes, Boiko can provide the full alphabetical tour, from nourishing alfalfa leaf to fever-breaking yarrow. She also stocks many salts, like a wicked ghost-pepper variety.
