For groups willing to plan a sing-along in advance—you’ll have to make a reservation two weeks before, and the owners can be hard to pin down—iBop Karaoke is worth the trek to unsexy midtown. The entrance is admittedly sketchy, and the rooms are a three-floor walk up from the street, but a Friday-night session in one of the spacious, couch-filled rooms (which hold up to 35 apiece) will set each person back only about $7 an hour, and the place is entirely BYOB. When drunken stomachs start rumbling, order a pie from neighborhood (and foodie) favorite Lazzarra’s nearby.
