Best Consignment Store

  • Clementine

    39 1/2 Washington Sq. S., nr. Macdougal St.; 212-228-9333

The fashion-conscious kid’s answer to INA (the reigning downtown consignment chain), Clementine is run by the ultraselective mother-and-daughter team Myrle and Cara Wall. The store features a constantly rotating stock from European designers like Jacadi, Bonpoint, Catimini, Marie Chantal, and Oilily (the staff are whizzes at converting Euro to U.S. sizes) and popular U.S. brands like Tea Collection and Janie and Jack. Load up on brand-new Petit Bateau onesies, designer tees, and Converse sneakers in the bargain bins, with everything priced from $1 to $10. The two big blowout sales are January and July. While parents shop, babies can rest in plush beanbags and toddlers are diverted by the house toys and lollipops.
