Best Casino School

  • Big Deal Casino Academy

    1 E. 28th St., at Fifth Ave.; 844-244-3325

"Serial entrepreneur” Wendy Rubin opened New York’s first licensed casino school in January in anticipation of three massive casinos set to land upstate next year. On the sixth floor of an otherwise drab office building, dealers-to-be can get vocational certification in everything from dealing craps ($2,340, 240 hours) to the more obscure Pai Gow tiles ($860, 80 hours). This month, the more relaxed recreational instruction in blackjack, baccarat, and Texas hold’em begins for hobbyists, taught by World Series of Poker winners.
