Best of New York 2015

Best Toddler Tennis

  • Court 16

526 Baltic St., nr. Nevins St., Gowanus; 718-875-5550

Private kids’-tennis clubs are all the rage in Europe, but Court 16 is the first of its kind Stateside, which is why families are willing to make the schlep to Gowanus. Every element of its sleek interior has been custom designed for players ages 3 to 11, from the USTA-endorsed half-size courts to the low-sitting bathroom sinks. There’s an air of exclusivity here: Only members ($500 annually for your first child, $300 seasonally) can take classes, which are organized by age, and group lessons are capped at five kids so they feel semi-private.
