A year ago, Brooks Brothers brought out its classic two-ply cotton pinpoint button-down in a no-iron fabric that includes a touch of Dow XLA fibers; those add stretch and recovery, meaning the slim fit is that much less punishing after yet another lunch at Maloney & Porcelli, is virtually wrinkle-proof even after a full day’s wear, and comes out of the wash looking like it just came back from the dry cleaner. Brooks Brothers’ version scores high on quality, too: There was no puckering around the seams or telltale signs of mass production like loose threads and buttons ($75 to $89.50).
