The West Village’s OhWow is grabbing work from artists you might otherwise find on buildings, skateboards, and the naked backs of twentysomethings and placing it on your coffee table. Inside the trippy shoe box of a bookstore, which is an offshoot of OhWow’s Miami gallery and publishing headquarters, you’re confronted with 40-odd volumes of affordable cool: Photographer David Benjamin Sherry’s It’s Time ($36), a yearbook of downtown New York called The Young and the Banging ($37), and at least one profanely named Terence Koh flipbook ($20).
