524 Broadway, at Spring St., third fl. 212-334-3255
Bringing nine in-house lines to its first New York store, Aritzia offers an affordable frock for every aesthetic. The Canadian fast-fashion brand entertains less of the tween-geared trends that tend to pop up at Topshop and H&M, focusing instead on flattering silhouettes and a variety of prints. The current 1,500-square-foot space is the precursor to a 10,000-square-foot flagship, opening on the same Soho corner this summer. The so-called Shop Before the Shop carries ikat and plaid beachy cotton dresses ($55 to $125), watercolor-hued jersey dresses ($135 to $195), lacy party dresses ($195 to $295), and edgy off-the-shoulder bandage dresses ($125 to $165).
