Best of New York 2015

Best Café-Shop

  • Sincerely, Tommy

343 Tompkins Ave., at Monroe St., Bedford-Stuyvesant; 718-484-8484

Bed-Stuy native Kai Avent-deLeon’s first boutique—which also offers Irving Farm coffee and Wi-Fi—has become a magnet for neighborhood creative types who no longer have to make the trek to a Soho coffee bar–shop to hack away at their freelance work. As for the retail component, expect futuristic women’s clothes by Brooklyn designers (Sophie Andes Gascon’s gold blazers for $450, L’Enchanteur’s long-beak caps for $275), with sling chairs and copper side tables by local maker Ben Erickson for sale throughout.
