Best of New York 2015

Best Unisex Suits

  • Bindle & Keep

    At-home fittings; by appointment

Tailor Rae Tutera, who along with Bindle owner Daniel Friedman recently suited Jessica Williams for The Daily Show, specializes in gender-neutral custom wool suits (from $795) with three cuts: feminine, masculine, and androgynous. Bespoke touches might include an extra inch in the waist for someone seeking a slouchy effect, or jeans-style pockets for a tighter silhouette along the hip. This month, Tutera will begin taking measurements from behind the counter at Willoughby General, in Bed-Stuy, for drop-ins or scheduled appointments. Expect about a six-week turnaround—and a forthcoming Lena Dunham documentary on the suit-maker.
