Inspired by recent peace rallies?
Besides the usual writing your senator/congressman/president,
another way is to literally put your money where your
mouth is. PeaceWorks is a not-for-profit company that
sells gourmet foods created by people striving to co-exist.
A perfect example: Meditalia. It's a line of pestos
and spreads - and how's this for cooperation? Olives
are grown in Palestinian villages, glass jars are made
in Egypt, sundried tomatoes are from Turkey, and all
the stuff is produced in Israel. This dairy, gluten,
cholesterol-free product is also kosher and comes in
several varieties: available in seven flavors: Basil
Pesto, Roasted Red Pepper Pesto, Sun-dried Tomato Pesto,
Green Olive Spread, Black Olive Spread, Roasted Eggplant
Spread, and Tuscan Eggplant Spread. Available on-line
by the case (24 jars, $85) or at Zabars and Garden of
Eden by the individual jar.
