Last week I popped into Malin
+ Goetz, a skincare store on Seventh Ave. in Chelsea.
Andrew Goetz jumped out of his chair when I walked in.
"I have the perfect Best Bets items for you!"
he said. I hear this all the time from various people,
but Andrew is a design snob, as am I, and very jaded
product-wise (as, I must admit, am I), so I knew this
had to be something good. And this is what it wasSterling's
Magic cleaner. Now, keep in mind that his store is all
white: white floor, white corian counter, white walls,
white leather chairs. I always wondered how he kept
it clean. Now I know. He did a little demo of the product,
and sent me home with a sample, which I used to clean
part of my Richard Schultz outdoor chairs (which are
white). I gotta say, I was impressed. I ordered a tub
of it. I don't know how it works, but it works and on
pretty much all surfaces. Just rememberyou have
to use a wet cloth, not a paper towel, with this goop.
And yes, it's goopy. Think pink slime.
