Welcome to Vulture!

Chances are, if you’re visiting this page, you’re a huge culture junkie. Vulture is New York's arts and entertainment blog, perhaps the only place where you can get the hottest indie-rock single, breaking news when your favorite performance artist straps a dog to his head, critical analysis of the latest fake memoir, and YouTube videos of Joey Lawrence break dancing — all from one source. The day that J.K. Rowling, David Chase, and Timbaland announce they're co-writing a Broadway musical — with Wes Anderson directing and Matthew Barney designing the sets — is the day Vulture will ascend into blog heaven. Until then, look to us for witty analysis of the cultural world, plus original concert footage and exclusive sneak previews of books and comics. We're obsessive fans and skeptical critics. And we love/hate pop culture like we love/hate nothing else.

And who are these culture vultures? Lane Brown is a writer from New York whose work has also appeared in Spin magazine. Dan Kois has been a literary agent and a film executive, and has written for Slate, among other publications. He's also writing a book for Continuum's 33 1/3 series.
