Fox's new series Drive follows competitors in an illegal cross-country road race, all fighting demons from their past, all desperate to win the $32 million prize. Our weekly feature the Race boils down who's winning the most important contest: the one for our interest.

The Wire’s Michael Hyatt’s intense performance as Susan, who thinks she’s on a mission from God, launches this duo into the top spot this week. Their pole position won't last long, though; at the end of the episode, Susan dies after their car is rammed by a mysterious SUV. Just when we start to get interested, they kill off the best actress on the show! |

A breakthrough this week, as the Race’s shadowy bosses force Alex and Corinna to rob a bank to get their next clue. So, Drive’s producers can basically do whatever they want, huh? Like, they could make someone perform brain surgery to get a shortcut? Great! Anything that helps the show avoid endless shots of speeding cars is okay by us. |

Their bickering is starting to grow on us. "Oh, you're concerned for my safety? Since when?” “Roughly since you saved my life!” “Which time?” “The second one.” |

Presumably still interesting, but offscreen this week. It seems safe to assume they figured out that the clue “Surrender America” was a reference to Appomattox before all these other dummies did, and are waiting for everyone there. |

Supposedly conscientious soldier Rob didn’t realize he’s AWOL even though his unit’s been in Iraq for weeks. If all our soldiers were this stupid, we’d be speaking Canadian by now. |
