Langella Takes Nixon to Screen: Frank Langella joins Michael Sheen in reprising their roles in Ron Howard's film version of Frost/Nixon. Rumors had Warren Beatty playing Nixon, but Howard made the bold decision that the guy who's spent six months winning every award there is for the part might be the way to go. [Variety]

Scott Helms Crowe: Ridley Scott will direct revisionist take on Robin Hood story Nottingham for Universal. Russell Crowe will star in his fourth film for Scott. It's like Marty and Leo, except they weigh twice as much! [Variety]

Tavernier Goes American: In his first English-language film since Round Midnight, Bertrand Tavernier will direct Tommy Lee Jones and Peter Sarsgaard in mystery adaptation of James Lee Burke novel In the Electric Mist With Confederate Dead. This item is too awesome to make fun of. [Variety]

Fisher One Smart Cookie: Isla Fisher will star in and produce The Cookie Queen, from script picked up by Universal by Jeremy Hast and Ed Gonzalez. Fisher stars as a Girl Scout–cookie–selling champion who sabotages the pint-size rival who threatens her record. Hard to believe Adam Sandler wouldn't do this one in drag. [Hollywood Reporter]

Baby, It's Sigourney: Sigourney Weaver joins Amy PoehlerTina Fey starrer Baby Mama as owner of surrogate agency. So far, this seems like it could be great, even with the inevitable Chris Kattan cameo. [Hollywood Reporter]

Leonard's Son Sells Novel: Peter Wolverton at Thomas Dunne Books buys Quiver, first novel by Elmore Leonard's son Peter Leonard. Jeffrey Posternak at Wylie Agency reps. It's a crime novel, set in Detroit, natch. [Publishers Marketplace]

London Has Faith: Faith Prince makes her London debut this summer in revival of Arabian Nights–themed musical Kismet. If Encores! couldn't even make this one work, Faith Prince may be in for it. [WhatsOnStage]
