Beastie Boys, What the Funk?!?

The latest MP3s to hit the blogs.

1. Beastie Boys, "The Rat Cage"
When we said the Beastie Boys should quit rapping after 2004's disappointing To the 5 Boroughs, we didn't mean they should record funk instrumentals. Very clever, guys. [Stereogum]

2. UNKLE feat. the Duke Spirit, "May Day"
The militant stomp of this leaked track from UNKLE's upcoming War Stories bodes well for the album, if not for the song's male antagonist who's apparently due a beating from Duke Spirit front woman Liela Moss. [Get Weird Turn Pro]

3. The Go! Team, "Grip Like a Vice"
Like all the best tracks on the band's acclaimed 2004 record Thunder, Lightning, Strike, this new one sounds like a seventies cop-show theme song crossed with Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It." [Deaf Indie Elephants]

4. T-Pain feat. Kanye West and UGK, "Buy U a Drank"
Kanye one-ups T-Pain, offering to buy us an entire bar and opening the door for a possible remix of this remix by West's financial adviser. [Idolator]

5. Sufjan Stevens, "Dr. Mr. Supercomputer"
This Illinois outtake is probably the closest Stevens will ever get to math rock. So enjoy it. [The Music Slut] —Lane Brown
