Well, we thought the New York Times Book Review's Dwight Garner was awfully friendly toward blogs the other week at Book Expo's bloggers versus critics panel, and it turned out he had good reason: As of today, he's a blogger. Garner's Times blog, Paper Cuts, launches today. Like most of the Gray Lady's ventures into blogging, the new site launches without much new content — just a cute collection of book ads from the seventies, and a post about departing Random House editor Dan Menaker that follows up on none of the fishy quotes from Julie Bosman's and Motoko Rich's report this morning. ("I cannot emphasize to you how fine I am about this," Menaker says, putting no one's mind at ease about whether he jumped or was pushed.) Here's hoping it's at least as interesting as Inside the List.
