ThinkFilm Delivers Deceptively Entertaining Trailer for ‘The Ten’

  • 6/7/07 at 11:45 AM

We'll be the first to admit that Wet Hot American Summer mastermind David Wain's celebrity-packed upcoming movie, The Ten, doesn't seem particularly promising. By most accounts, the Ten Commandments–based comedy is neither particularly laugh-packed nor sufficiently cohesive to come together in any valuable way. So it's a bit surprising that the film's trailer is actually, well, very funny — though, according to Sundance reviews, if you watch it in its entirety, you'll have seen virtually all the best moments the movie has to offer.

With that in mind, watch in full or feel free to tune out until about the 1:50 mark, when the announcer kicks in and starts reeling off the impressive list of talent (Paul Rudd, Winona Ryder, Liev Schreiber, Amy Poehler, Oliver Pratt) that populates the film. We particularly enjoy his unique take on the pronunciation of "Justin Theroux" — and so, audibly, did the audience at a Loews Village 7 showing of Knocked Up last night: The laughter was so deafening that it was nearly impossible to catch the trailer's closing moments.
