Video: Ballet Bolle!

When American Ballet Theatre announced that La Scala’s Roberto Bolle would partner Alessandra Ferri for her last performance before retiring, it seemed too good to be true — ABT’s resident hot Italian ballerina with, well, a perhaps even hotter Italian dancer. Bollemania ensued — Armani threw a dinner in his honor, and then there’s that beefcake photo of Bolle in unstrapped overalls that the Times printed. The paper's critic Roslyn Sulcas has already been reduced to incoherent puddles over his "Greek God proportions" and “plush feline grace,” and don’t even get us started on all the other swooning women who’ve guaranteed that the performance, June 23, is long sold out (and this at a ballet company already known for hunky Latin stars). Vulture captured some of Bolle’s splendor on film, and Rebecca Milzoff talked to Bolle about dancing at the Met for the first time and what it feels like to be the possessor of that famously irresistible physique.
