Exclusive Comics Excerpt: ‘Black Cherry’

  • 8/6/07 at 09:55 AM

Every week, the Comics Page introduces you to brand-new graphic novels by the world's best artists and writers. Manga, superheroes, indie comix — we'll cover them all as our editors select the best the exploding comics world has to offer.

During the day Eddie Peretti does dirty deeds for the Mob. By night he pines for his lost love, stripper Black Cherry. When he takes a job stealing a dead body from his own boss, he winds up on a collision course with space aliens, blaxploitation pals, and a sweet, benevolent God.

Today on the Comics Page, we're proud to present a ten-page excerpt from Black Cherry, Doug Tennapel's dirty, filthy, sweetly religious graphic novel noir, out this month from Image Comics.
