Madonna and Pharrell Turn the Clock Back to 2005

1. Madonna, “The Beat Goes On”
Madge spends the first part of this Pharrell-produced track asking to “switch it up,” but it still sounds like the same tuneless, robotic electronica song that appeared twelve times on Confessions on a Dance Floor. [Kevipod]

2. Eugene McGuinness, “Monsters Under the Bed”
McGuinness is a twee U.K. singer-songwriter, but don’t hold that against him. This dark lullaby will have you reaching for your most comfortable jammies, though good luck sleeping. [100db]

3. Kate Nash, “Foundations”
If Lily Allen were not British or adorable enough for you, feast your ears on the U.K.’s next big blog thing. [Indie Christoph]

4. Diplo feat. Daft Punk, “Work Is Never Over”
The Interweb’s two favorite dance mavens collide head-on in a multiple-robot pile-up. At least everybody can grind on the side of the road — just like David Cronenberg’s Crash! [Scramble Network]

5. The Real Tuesday Weld, “Last Words”
This band’s name begs the obvious question: Who is the fake Tuesday Weld? The answers aren’t in this moody slice of Casio rock. [Radio Free Chicago]
