In his late-seventies series Arthur Rimbaud in New York, downtown denizen David Wojnarowicz seems to have airlifted the legendary poet from late-nineteenth-century Paris, dressed him up like Cosmo Kramer, and dropped him into a crappy Manhattan walk-up. Wojnarowicz’s time warp is the result of super-high-tech manipulation — some dude put on a Rimbaud mask and Wojnarowicz snapped a picture. This shot is part of Derek Eller’s impressive “Neointegrity” group showing, up at the gallery through August 24. —Rachel Wolff
