Paul Dergarabedian Is Cool With New York Blowing Up

Our favorite box-office adding machine, Paul Dergarabedian, makes an exciting non-AP appearance this morning on the pages of the Daily News, where he holds forth on the return of the disaster movie to New York City, pegged to J.J. Abrams's Cloverfield (or Monstrous).
"I think it actually shows we're strong enough now to accept movies that do trash a city as iconic as New York post-9/11," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Media By Numbers, a box office tracking firm.
That's right, it's a sign of our strength! What some may have viewed as grim numbness to the never-ending threats and horrors of a post-9/11 world is actually strength.
Remember, if Hollywood can't blow up New York on film, the terrorists win.
