Durchblicke (Clear Views), a densely packed tropical panorama by German video artist Marcel Odenbach, doesn't owe its wisps and branches to an Old Master technique or a wide-format camera lens. Nope, they're actually crumpled-up newspapers and press photos meant to illustrate the strife and struggle of living in Africa — see them after the jump! Odenbach's massive collage is up at the Anton Kern Gallery through October 13. —Rachel Wolff
