Is the Art Jeffrey Deitch Booted From His Gallery Really That Offensive?

In today’s issue of New York, Boris Kachka writes about Jeffrey Deitch’s decision to remove two artworks by artist Wes Lang from “Mail Order Monsters,” the show currently running at Deitch’s gallery. Deitch pulled the works a day after the show opened because, according to the artist, he found them “superficially incendiary” and received complaints from several black friends.

So how offensive are the pieces, really? Judge for yourself!

Vulture has full images of both works, after the jump.
