‘Juno’ Trailer: Michael Cera's Latest Unlikely to Be Greatest Film in History

  • 9/18/07 at 10:45 AM

The Tagline: "I'm already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans could I get into?"

The Translation: None involving McLovin, sadly.

The Verdict: Following up modern cinema's undisputed high-water mark is no easy feat, so we're willing to cut Michael Cera some slack here. In Juno, Cera reprises his role as The Michael Cera Character, but instead of Jonah Hill as his penis-sketching comedic foil, we get the title character (Ellen Page), a girl he's somehow managed to impregnate, who's looking for a suburban family to adopt her baby. Even though director Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking) is unlikely to be mistaken for Judd Apatow, we're still excited to see Cera reteam with Arrested Development co-star Jason Bateman. Fox Searchlight is clearly hoping to market Juno into this year's Little Miss Sunshine, which is probably a good move since it's definitely no Superbad.
