Foo Fighters, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace

Official release date: 9/25

We think: Here at Vulture, we'll pretty much get onboard with anything that Dave Grohl does — he's funny, he's talented, and he's handsome enough to make us forget that the last Foo Fighters single we liked was "Monkey Wrench" in 1997. Until now (which is to say, we like the Foos' new album, not that Grohl's looks are fading). Echoes sounds like the expert cross between Zeppelin and Wings that we've long suspected this band was capable of; "Long Road to Ruin," "Come Alive," "Cheer Up, Boys (Your Make-Up Is Running)" are the highlights, but there's not really a dud in the whole bunch. This record could've been made by a witless ugly person, and we'd still probably like it!
