Pavarotti RIP

From left, Edge, Pavarotti, Bono.Photo: Getty Images

1. Passengers, "Miss Sarajevo"
Luciano Pavarotti passed away, but his collaboration with U2 lives on. The Edge will outlast us all! [Swiss Music Junkie]

2. Dropkick Murphys, "State of Massachusetts"
Martin Scorsese's second-favorite band tears through a song that, sadly, has nothing to do with bad drivers or Ted Kennedy. [Culture Bully]

3. Le Loup, "We Are Gods! We Are Wolves!"
This seven-piece wrote an album that has something to do with Dante’s Inferno. Best listened to alone while wearing a wizard hat. [MOKB]

4. Bangers & Cash, "Shake That"
Eventually, this trend of pornographic indie rap is going to have to end, but for now it looks like people can get away with saying "Put your ass up on that pole / If your friend over there lick it / Then you might get twenty mo" as long as they aren't on a major label. [Stereogum]

5. Enemy Alliance, "Government Subsidized Ghetto"
Has Against Me! opened the floodgates for big-hook slinging political skate-punk bands? That seems unlikely considering their anemic sales, but that doesn't mean this slab of Bad Religion–channeling hard core doesn't slay. [It's a Trap]
