Thus far, science has done an admirable job in its quest to make Back to the Future Part II's bold vision of the year 2015 a reality. Exciting progress has already been made toward the development of both hoverboards and flying cars. One thing we haven't heard much about, though, are those awesome light-up, self-lacing Nikes worn by Marty McFly. Seriously, Nike, WTF?
Thankfully, someone is on the case — Kanye West! Vulture reader Michael Maloof, co-founder of McFly 2015, a "grassroots movement" to convince Nike to manufacture the shoes, has alerted us to the fact that the liner notes to Kanye's forthcoming Graduation feature an illustration of the rapper's trademark bear wearing a pair of the much-wished-for sneakers while standing near a DeLorean (see it after the jump!) Please, Nike, listen to Kanye West and make us the shoes — we certainly don't plan on walking to the movie theater to see Jaws 19 in a crappy pair of Converse. Save us all from a future of non-futuristic-looking footwear!
