A Sub-Continental Picasso Gets His Due

Who knew painting by numbers could be so profitable? Geometric abstracts, like the one above, by Indian modernist S.H. Raza sell for well over a million dollars at auction. Considered something of a sub-continental Picasso, the 85-year-old will open his first major U.S. retrospective tonight, on view at Saffronart Gallery through October 31. No word on whether paint kits will be available at the bookstore.—Tara Kilachand
