Vulture

Edited by Dan Kois & Lane Brown

‘Fart Party,’ comic writer‘s first collection, is a gas.

Julia Wertz is not a struggling cartoonist: She never went to art school and has only been doing comics for two years, but everything from the debut book she stapled together has been brilliant and greeted as such by her cult of fans. Fart Party, her first collection, describes her pursuit of beer, cheese, and comics; things that irritate her; and her all-around life in San Francisco with a (now ex-) boyfriend. It is, in summary, friggin' hilarious.
