In the upcoming issue of New York, Amy Larocca profiles performance artist Francesco Vezzoli, he of the famed Trailer for a Remake of Gore Vidal’s “Caligula” at last year's Whitney Biennial. So maybe you won't able to catch the live performances of Pirandello that Vezzoli is putting on at this year's Performa festival, starring Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, David Strathairn, and "potentially, probably, Vezzoli himself" — um, because it'll be a nightmare zoo?!

But don't despair! You can still check out Vezzoli's 2006 short film Marlene Redux: A True Hollywood Story, the semi-fictional life and times of the artist as a callow young man, as portrayed E! style: It's on YouTube! For now, anyway. Commissioned by François-Henri Pinault and premiered at the Tate Modern, Marlene Redux is funny enough — complete with multiple commentators calling Vezzoli a "pushy little shit" — that you might even forgive Vezzoli for this priceless quote upon discovering that his apartment in Milan was already paid for: “I suppose my father paid it. Someone did.”
