Gonzo artist Ralph Steadman and gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson collaborated on this 1995 print, The Sheriff commemorating Thompson's run for sheriff of Aspen in 1970 on the "Freak Power" ticket. (Amazingly, he was not elected.) It's part of a writer-themed group exhibition at uptown gallery Anita Shapolsky, up through October 27. Other artists include Jonathan Lethem, Jack Kerouac, and the late, great Kurt Vonnegut. —Rachel Wolff
