Israeli-born, Brooklyn-based artist Ofri Cnaani tackles the Middle East in Oriental Landscapes, one of two bodies of work up at the Andrea Meislin Gallery through November 3. In Oasis, the above ink and spray paint on Mylar drawing, Cnaani’s moldy and decrepit Middle East looks a little like Hollywood, complete with palm trees and a dapper rogue out front. Coincidence?
