Ryan Gosling Out of 'The Lovely Bones'; Mark Wahlberg In

Last-Minute Bones: One day before shooting begins, Ryan Gosling leaves Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones over creative differences and is replaced by Mark Wahlberg. Character of a sensitive, mourning father will be rewritten on the fly into a tough-talking Philly cop who doesn't take no shit from anyone. [Variety]

Jolie, Pitt Produce: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will produce a fact-based drama for HBO about international aid workers. Scott Burns (co-writer of The Bourne Ultimatum) will write. Actors cast in the project will be placed in a philanthropy boot camp run by Jolie and Pitt, in which their wallets will be stripped bare and then rebuilt from the ground up while the attractive star couple screams, "Care more, maggots!" in their faces. Deschanel Says Yes: Zooey Deschanel signs on to play the girlfriend of Jim Carrey's character in Yes Man, based on Danny Wallace's memoir about a year spent saying yes to every opportunity life presents him. Hollywood, isn't it time you did better by Zooey Deschanel? Also, Zooey Deschanel, isn't it time you did better, too? [Variety]

Longoria, Corddry Go Lower: Eva Longoria, Rob Corddry, Jason Biggs, and Ed Helms are cast in Starz Media's Lower Learning, a cruddy-sounding inspirational high-school movie spoof. Look for A.O. Scott to lecture Corddry all over again this time next year. [Variety]

Bong Hits 4 Paramount: Paramount and MTV Films will co-produce film adaptation of the Bong Hits 4 Jesus story, in which Juneau high-school student Joseph Frederick rode a goofy sign all the way to the Supreme Court. Stacy Sher will produce. Mel Gibson reportedly interested in directing until someone told him what it was actually about, and then he was all, "Oh, wait, no, I don't want to do that." [Variety]
