‘The Office’ Convention Disappoints the Show's Least Capitalization-Savvy Fans

"Ow! You made me hit Caps Lock!"Courtesy of NBC

NBC’s The Office has brought more recognition to the small city of Scranton, Pennsylvania, than anything else in its distinguished history. So if you're a forgotten coal burg, it makes sense for you to cash in on this fickle celebrity by hosting an Office convention October 26 to 28. But what do you do when tickets cost $250, and there’s no autograph sessions scheduled, and among the best guests are the band that plays the show's theme song (The Scrantones)? At that point, you might want to remove the comments function from your site.

Some of our favorite scolds from Office fans betrayed:

So for $250 we don’t get any autographs? This SUCKS. Q&As are boring!!! Every time I go to a con, I skip the Q&As, because I can’t sit in a seat that long and listen to stuff I don’t care about.
DEAR CONVENTION PEOPLE PLANNING THIS, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING TO HAVE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AND WE PAID HOW MUCH???? IF I DONT MEET THEM, I BET A LOT OF US ARE JUST GOING TO RIOT
For the prices, I’m just really disappointed that isn’t included. I didn’t pay all this money for the “honor” of being in the same room as the actors. That’s stupid. I want an autograph and a photo with them, just like I got from David Boreanaz (the star or “Angel” and “Bones”) and what I got from Nathan Fillion (star of “Firefly,” “Drive,” is currently on “Desperate Housewives” and the movie “Waitress”). That is what I have grown accustomed to at these cons, no matter how famous the actors, and I’ve even been able to become FRIENDS with many of the actors I have met at conventions.
SO THE HALLOWEEN PARTY IS OFF? THERE IS A GROUP OF 8 OF US COMING AND WE ALL PURCHASED THE $50. I AM STARTING TO GET CONFUSED AS TO WHAT WE ARE EVEN GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO DO ONCE WE GET THERE, BESIDES SLEEP AT A HILTON IN SCRANTON FOR THE WEEKEND.
I Think There Is Going To Be A Really Good Chance You’ll Be Able To Get Pictures, Handshakes, And Autographs All Weekend Long. Everybody Is Freaking out ... I Think The Convention Party Planning Committee Has Some Explaining and Clarifying to Do. It’s Not Like We Are In New York City Or Something … It’s Little Old Scranton. Everything Is In Like A 4 Block Radius. I Think Those Of You Who Have Purchased The More Expensive Passes Are Going To Have A Wonderful Time At Those Limited Admission Advents! But No Matter The Price Of Your Ticket … Scranton Is Gonna Be A Party All Weekend.
